Cat Ba Island trekking tours (3 days)
The 3-day trekking tour is provided in Cat Ba island, Hai Phong province, northern Vietnam. Begin your two-day adventure with a car transfer from Hanoi to Halong bay where you either take a cruising boat or a shuttle ferry to get Cat Ba island. Those traveling on budget can take public shuttle bus departing from Luong Yen bus station. The hiking adventure starts as you walk from Cat Ba national park entrance, through the park, jungle forest to Viet Hai village, located on a valley. You follow a small hiking trail that is available only during the dry season. The tour can be extended with a short bicycle ride from the village to the boat pier or a kayaking trip around Lan Ha bay. Cycling around Catba island is also an alternative option. Itinerary:
Day 1: Hanoi – Halong
Driving approx 3 hours to Bai Chay pier, board on the junk boat cruise to World Heritage site, Lunch is served on boat. Explore amazing lime stone cave and paddle to kayak to lagoon. Swim in South China Sea, enjoy dinner on boat. Sleep on twin shared cabin with comfort western facility.
Day 2: Cat Ba island
We dock on the Cat Ba island then transfer to entrance of Cat Ba National Park, here we will trek approx 6 hours through spectacular tropical rainforest, stop at Viet Hai village for picnic lunch. After trekking on the island we board on our boat waiting for us to cruise to other side of Cat Ba island. Sleep in hotel on Cat Ba island.
Day 3: Cat Ba – Hanoi
In the morning we will spend about 3 hours kayaking around beautiful islands in the National Park. Stop on the desert beach to swim. In the afternoon we catch fast public ferry to Hai Phong then transfer to Ha Noi. Trip ends in Ha Noi.
